Excellent BBQ rib tips and chicken! Loved the braised collard greens as well! Excellent wait service - great experience!

Over-rated by many. The barbecue is good but apparently they forgot the rest of the meal. The potato was small and undercooked the salad was from a bag and the bread looks like it was from the local grocery store. Over rated, overpriced disappointed. I won't be back

Stopped in while traveling on business for dinner. Ive been here once before about a year ago. It was a Wednesday night and not overly busy and got a table right away. Half priced beer, wine and rail drinks on hump day so already things were looking up. Server was prompt, well versed on the menu and gave solid recommendations. Had half rack of ribs which were as good as I've had outside of KC or Memphis. Sides were okay and the baked was under cooked but still edible. They had fresh chives which was a nice touch and much appreciated. Finished with homemade carrot cake that was solid. I would highly recommend stopping in for some cold beer and great smoked meat!

Really impressed by this place. Definitely the best barbeque in the area. We tried the combo plate; loved it. Brats and ribs were our favorites. Also loved the smell of the back patio where we sat - a hint of smoke in the air! I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more.

Worst experience ever. Boiled meat, things floating in my water, cold, fatty meat and the owner verbally assaulted my mother.

I have been a customer of Lone Star since before I moved to the area a year ago. The restaurant occupies a wonderful brick building underneath the Konnsbruk hotel. I have had formal dinners, casual lunches, and brunch with the kids there. I am not a professed BBQ aficionado, but I have had it all over the country. Lone Star can hold it's own against any BBQ establishment I have been to. What sets it apart is the atmosphere. The owners are always around and take pride in their food and restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful and home like. I feel like I am eating over at a friends house when I am there. I have two young kids who are on the rambunctious side, and have never felt awkward brining them in. Other reviews have complained about service, I would disagree. The reality of a restaurant is that every so often you might get seated after a large group. I have never experienced anything that would even approach poor service. Having such wonderful hosts who take pride to accommodate you is something you just don't get many places, and it is abundant at Lone Star.

I believe the owner sat me and she was extremely nice. Atmosphere - Rustic and Clean Wait staff was kind and accommodating while ordering. Ordered side salad instead if getting slaw. Tasted great and fresh. Probably the best part of my meal Had combo platter Hot Link was good and I don't really care for them normally. Ribs were okay. I would prefer that they would come off the bone easier. Brisket was also okay. I don't care that it seems pre sliced and this crusty ends. I was wanting the feeling like it freshly sliced. Pork - It was what I had the most left over of. Beans- didn't like. May be my own opinion, but I would change recipe. Toast was toast.

I was traveling down to Mankato and saw their billboard just north of St Peter. I stopped in over lunch on a Thursday, not a busy time and ordered up the brisket sandwich. The brisket was tender, moist and great flavor. The fries were seasoned and very good as well. Over all impressed and I will definitely be stopping back in!!

We have been here too many times to count so clearly it's time to write a rave review! I think I've tried almost everything. The meat is smoked on site daily and is always delicious. Jalapeño poppers are a great starter...or the cowboy tots. Brunch is filled with an assortment of excellent options. Blueberry pancakes are the best. And they make their own bacon!!!! Go hungry!!!

This place is one of my favorite places for good BBQ. Great filling portions of absolutely wonderful BBQ. Great atmosphere and you'll always see the owners there usually helping out when needed or just stopping by your table to make sure that everything is good and you don't need anything else. Great place to enjoy BBQ, some Willie Nelson and a Lone Star beer. A little but of Texas in Minnesota.

After being seated, the owner warned us that a large order was just placed so the food wait would be a long time. We were fine with waiting. Our waitress delivered our drinks then disappeared. We didn't see her for nearly an hour and she only returned to our table after my sister went to find her. We expected the food to take awhile, but you'd think they'd make up for the wait with excellent service. Sadly, this wasn't the case.

Excellent food, atmosphere and service. The BBQ pulled pork was smokey and tasty. Jody was a very helpful waitress and one of the owners was playing piano as we ate. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Very good BBQ for Minnesota! My wife and I split the combo platter and really enjoyed the pulled pork and ribs that were in it.

Very good food, good service, and good atmosphere. We had the Beef Brisket Sandwich, stuffed jalapeño peppers and pastrami Reuben. The beef was nicely seasoned and smokey, but not overly so. The buns were very fresh and toasted. The sauces were wonderful. The bacon wrapped stuffed jalapeños were stuffed with a smokey link and bacon wrapped, delicious! We will definitely return.

Overpriced. Food is less than good. You have to pull and fight to get the meat off the ribs.

Too bad I live in the Chicago area as I'd be a regular here if I could. I just happened to be passing through town during the lunch hour and stopped in. Chatted it up with the friendly owners, ate some great food (it's not all BBQ) and sampled the wide beer selection. Very clean, great food, friendly place, nice atmosphere. I wish Tom and his wife tons of luck and if I'm ever passing through again you can count on me stopping.

We had brunch here yesterday and all our food was delicious! Two of us had eggs and cakes and three of us had BBQ. Everyone really enjoyed their meal. I had the BBQ brisket sandwich and it was as good or maybe even better than any BBQ I've had anywhere. This place is amazing, especially for such a tiny place as St. Peter MN. We will definitely eat here next time we're in town. This the best food I've ever had in St. Peter and we've been eating here for the past four years. How wonderful to finally find a really high quality place with interesting, delicious, and unique food in this little town!

We just wanted some wings and a salad . 6 wings for 10$? What planet is this? Greek salad was mediocre. Basically half a bag of iceberg lettuce and some veggies... Nothing to write home about. I will say the basket of French fries was worth an extra star. When asked if we saved room for dessert I wanted to ask for recommendations on a good place to go for it. I didn't. I pretended to be full.

I wouldn't consider myself a BBQ expert, but I have eaten at a few of the best BBQ joints in the country: Pappy's in St Louis, Oklahoma Joe's in Kansas City, Fat Matt's Rib Shack in Atlanta. Surprisingly, Lone Star was right up there with them. This was easily the most moist ribs I've eaten, with the meat falling off the bone to the touch. The seasoning rub was very good, with a hint of pepper. The sauce was amazing. The wood they used might have been hickory or something stronger like that, I might have preferred something smoother like apple or cherry wood. This beats Doc E's hands down and I really like Doc E's. The same can be said for QFanatic in Champlin. The owners were in and they shared stories of competing in barbecue competitions in Texas and St Louis, MO. They have Sunday breakfast. There's a patio with outdoor seating. I will be eating here many times in the future. I uploaded a picture of the smoker they were using in the parking lot behind the building.

Went here for dinner during the TRAM '14 stop. We had a group of 11 so we were put in the back room. Service was nice but a bit slow. I had the ribs which where perfectly cooked. Rub could have been more flavorful. Vegetables were fresh and perfectly cooked also.
